‘80s METAL BANDS RATT AND WARRANT ADDED TO ‘MERCURY INSURANCE CONCERT SERIES’ LINE UP

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (December 17, 2013) – Mercury Insurance, in partnership with Live Nation Entertainment, today announced that Ratt and Warrant are the latest additions to the “Mercury Insurance Concert Series,” a six-concert series featuring ‘80s music acts. The hair metal bands will perform on January 23, 2014 at House of Blues Anaheim.

“These bands and their heavy metal sound were formed on the Sunset Strip music scene,” says Erik Thompson, Mercury advertising director. “Their origins begin in California, just like Mercury Insurance, and we’re happy to bring home Ratt and Warrant for music fans who can’t get enough ‘80s rock.”

Ratt, best known for hits “Round and Round,” “Wanted Man” and “Lay It Down,” was featured on the first season of MTV Unplugged. Considered pioneers for L.A. heavy metal, Ratt is a mash-up of hard rock and heavy metal songs with pop-influenced hooks.

Joining Ratt are hair metal superstars Warrant. The band reached No. 1 on Rolling Stone and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1989 with hits “Heaven” and “Down Boy.”  

The Mercury Insurance Concert Series is part of Mercury’s “Get a Quote, Get a Pair of Concert Tickets” promotion. The promotion runs through December 31, 2013.

The two remaining Mercury Insurance Concert Series acts will be announced later this year.
