We know from experience that veterans and military families face challenges when it comes to employment, and we also know that they have a lot to offer, so this program is a perfect fit for Mercury.

LOS ANGELES, Calif., and ARLINGTON, Va. (October 22, 2019) – Mercury Insurance (NYSE: MCY) is proud to announce its participation in the Department of Defense Military Spouse Employment Partnership, an employment and career partnership connecting military spouses with more than 400 partner employers who have committed to recruit, hire, promote and retain military spouses in portable careers.

Mercury Insurance officially joined the Military Spouse Employment Partnership – which launched on June 29, 2011 to serve spouses from all military services – today at the annual Induction Ceremony held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Va.

By joining the Military Spouse Employment Partnership, Mercury Insurance is becoming part of an even larger collective effort to support military spouse employment.

“We’re honored to be a part of the Military Spouse Employment Partnership. We know from experience that veterans and military families face challenges when it comes to employment, and we also know that they have a lot to offer, so this program is a perfect fit for Mercury,” said Heidi Sullivan, Mercury Insurance vice president, chief human capital officer. “Our employees are the heart and soul of the company, and this partnership opens new doors for us to find talented individuals to join our family.”

Mercury Insurance, founded by WWII veteran George Joseph, proudly employs many veterans and numerous employees with family members who are currently serving in our Nation’s armed forces.

This partnership is the latest in Mercury’s long commitment of giving back to the military and veterans. Mercury employees have assembled thousands of care packages for troops stationed overseas, helped build veteran homes with Habitat for Humanity and has also partnered with Disabled American Veterans’ California Chapter to provide reconditioned vehicles for veteran medical transport.
