LOS ANGELES, March 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercury General Corporation (NYSE: MCY) today announced the pricing of $375 million aggregate principal amount of its 4.400% Senior Notes due 2027 in an underwritten public offering. The notes were priced at 99.847% of par. The sale of the notes is expected to close on March 8, 2017, subject to customary closing conditions. Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC are acting as joint bookrunners for this debt offering.
The Company intends to use the net proceeds from this offering to repay its outstanding indebtedness, including borrowings under its credit facilities, and for general corporate purposes.
The offering will be made pursuant to a registration statement on Form S-3, which was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on December 28, 2016, and became effective upon filing.
